Unlocking Creativity 2: The Importance of Movement

So often, when advocating for the importance of music in the artist process, we uncover that someone has told a student to move in a prescribed and unnatural way. Worse, we also find that some students have been told that they must first work hard to be granted permission to move like an artist. Sadly, that permission never comes.

Remember that:

·         Sound is the result of movement

·         Movement is the result of thought

·         The clarity or intention behind the movement influences the quality of the sound that I produce.

Map yourself first and foremost an artist, who has permission, from no one other than yourself, to move and express the music within you!
